The MCU Administration has announced the appointment of Ms. Leliosa N. Olmilla as Principal of the High and Grade School Department and Dr. Visitacion G. Fernandez as Head of Grade School.
Ms. Olmilla has more than 18 years of teaching experience in High and Grade School including over 11 years in MCU. The new HGS principal is a candidate for a Master of Arts in Child Study degree at the Philippine Normal University and finished a Bachelor of Science in Education degree Major in General Science and Minor in Mathematics at Far Eastern University.
Dr. Fernandez has over thirty-five (35) years of academic and administrative work experience in MCU. She started her academic stint in MCU as an elementary teacher, taught in various Colleges, and is currently a professor at the Graduate School. In 2005 until her new appointment, Dr. Fernandez was the Principal’s Coordinator of the MCU High and Grade School Department. Dr. Fernandez has a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts in Education, and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree cum laude in MCU.
In a related development, the Administration also announced the appointment of Dr. Marciana Aliping – McKenzie as Dean of the College of Dentistry effective June 15, 2010.
Dr. McKenzie has more than 25 years of experience as a dental practitioner in Metro Manila and London. She has a Doctor in Dental Materials Science degree at Guy’s Hospital in London, a Master in Science in Paedodontics degree at King’s College Hospital in London, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at De Ocampo Memorial College. Dr. McKenzie finished her pre-dental course at the College of Arts and Sciences in MCU.
